so...

the car (the Vue) is officially 'totaled' and J and I are in search of a new vehicle. We start our search on saturday, hopefully. And, by the way, J and I went and watched "The Happening"....I would just like to mention that I did not like it. This is actually probably one of my least favorite movies. I was pretty willing to leave, not out of disgust or anything, but just cuz it was no good. some people may like it, but I for one did not. not at all. neither did J. so, yeah, I wouldn't suggest seeing it. Also, for all those of you who have migraines, I can sympathize. I've had a couple before, but they (apparently) weren't that bad. I learned what they are all about on Monday. It was enough pain that I couldn't see very well, I couldn't focus, or walk straight, it made me vomit, everything looked like looking through a really bright haze, and it hurt so bad it made me cry. That has NEVER happened before. It was aweful. Luckily for me m

What a Day.

Last night there was a heck of a thunderstorm, booming and crackling away, which of course causes my dog to freak out. So I put her in a kennel (this one is smaller than her usual one because for one I thought she may feel safer in a more confined space, and for two I figured she couldn't tear it apart like the other one because it gave her less space to move.) and she was actually a little bit better in this kennel. well, at about 3:00 a.m. I Got up to tell her to be quiet, then at 5:30 a.m. I heard a huge crack of thunder that startled J and I awake but Prints was quiet. Suspicious, I went to check on her, and she seemed fine other than that she completely demolished her blanket and reaked of urine (she was so scared she peed.) Then in the morning at about 8:30 Justi and I went to go to the gym, but low and behold I had forgotten to roll up the windows in the view. The seats were soaked, and I mean SOAKED. So we took Justi's car and put a towel on M's car seat. Af

Never enough from a 2 year old, right?

So, I totally forgot to share this story with all of you. We had all sat down for dinner on one of the nights that J's mom was here, and as I've told you M has been having trouble deciding to stay for dinner. So lately we've told her that she can't get down until she's all done, at which point we put away the rest of her dinner. Sometimes she's mad, sometimes she could care less. Well this time she was being very well behaved so far through dinner, and being a little goofy and having fun. She began to stand up in her chair, and as she did so she said " I know not to stand up until I'm all done" (from her it may have sounded more like "no no stand till all done" but the most the words were there, and the meaning was the same.) I looked at J and he had the same dumbstruck look on his face as I did. at the same time we both said "did you hear that?" We had heard the same thing. Crazy child. She preceded to sit back down
J had his first day back at work yesterday. everything went well, but he was really tired by the end of the day. M has started...well I don't know what to call it, but she has started. She says "mommy, potty!" and I respond "okay, m, hurry go potty in your potty chair" she says "no momma, no potty" so I say "okay, don't go potty" and she says "no momma! potty!" ... or... "momma, dinner please" I say "here's your dinner, m" she says "all done, momma" I say "okay, all done" as she starts to get down from her high chair, then she whines "No momma! more dinner. No! More!" I say "okay, M. If you want more dinner, then eat it. If you get down you're all done and you get no more." M says "ok." then eats a couple of bites and says "all done, momma. No more dinner" and I say "okay" as she gets down from her chair and I ta

hello

so, I know I haven't blogged in a little while. I've been busy! (I know it doesn't happen very often.) J's surgery went mostly well -- by now most of you have called and know that, thank you for your calls! I was waiting in the waiting room for about 1 1/2 hours when the nurse called and said that everything was going well but that it was taking longer than usual. I waited more and later the surgeon came and told me he was finished and that everything was okay, and gave me some care instructions. Awhile later a nurse came and told me that J was in a lot of pain and had him in recovery for an hour but that he was still in a lot of pain. She said they had given him 2 doses of morphine, 2 doses of something stronger, and a dose of valium to relax his muscles. He was asking for me and so she brought me back. J was in pain for a long time and they gave him percacet (sp?), we were in the recovery room for another hour and a half before they sent us to the other out p
