This face cracks me up... and is a common one. M playing with (2nd?) cousins Jody and Charlotte And this is her walking...

by the way...

Just cuz it was the highlight of my day I thought I'd share - M pooped in her bath today. I asked her not to, but low and behold she did it anyway. probably her strategy to get two baths!

M walks

You know, sometimes it's the little things like trying to twist on the milk cap, but the cap won't twist right, then falls off and rolls away, and you splosh milk then finally get it all together and put the jug back in the fridge- all one handed, while holding a screaming baby, that can really get to me. Megan told me today that my blog sucks....don't worry it wasn't really mean. She just wants me to write more, or add pictures....anything. Good advice. You all know me though. Procrastinate procrastinate...etc. M can walk now. Yay!! right? I haven't made up my mind yet. It took a couple of times of letting go of the furniture, leg, wall, or dog she was holding on to and making a few face plants, some tears, and hugs, and now she's well on her way. She just wonders around the house now, sometimes crawling, sometimes walking, whichever suits her fancy. It is absolutley amazing how fast this is all going...I'm still working on accepting the fact that

Daddy's girl...

Today J came home sick from work...which is amazing because he doesn't normally take off a day for anything, even when he's sick. M and I have just been hangin out and playing, but when he came home and did't pick her up or stop to say hello she got really angry. Now, typically I can substitute and pick her up and she'll be fine, but I offered and she crawled away and started crying again. I offered again with the same result and decided just to let her figure it out herself. J decided take a bath, but, unknowing to him, he shut the bathroom door just as she wast crawling towards it - and him. Which got her even more upset...not only was dad not stopping to say hello, he was shutting her out. Once again I tried to help by distracting her, but nothing was to be done - she didn't want me, she wanted dad. So we opened the bathroom door and let her play in there while J took a bath. After the bath she still wouldn't let go...I've never seen her quite thi

M is one.

I can't believe my baby is one year old today. She has grown so much and looks so big!!! She can't walk quite yet, but she is right on the verge - she'll let go of the couch and try to take a step , but so far she just falls. Her first steps by herself happened just a few weeks ago. she can: say mom, dad, dog, bubba (my cousin's dog), "blee" or "eese" for please, meow like a cat, walk holding your hand, uses signs for more, eat, sleep, and please...and many surprises as we go. It sure doesn't seem that long ago when she was just born..but as it is, it's been a year. I can't seem to get a grasp on that idea...i'm in denial. Happy Birthday to my baby.
JULY 16TH is M's FIRST birthday...we celebrated on the 15th. This was her cake... This is how she looked while eating her cake...there was a lot of green frosting!!! WE LOVE OUR LITTLE ONE YEAR OLD!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY M!!! Here she's playing with her new toys...
this one looks crazy because it exploded too soon and I ran from it.

M's first fourth of july

This was M's first fourth of July. She didn't seem to mind them that much, but at the same time didn't care for them either. With the loud ones she would snuggle into my chest and the we would clap...and eventually, before the really good fireworks, she fell asleep. Before the fourth, when J and I went to buy our fireworks we were walking around in the warehouse and I asked M how she thought she was going to like the fourth of July, and must have mentioned something about the last fourth of July because J said "Yeah, cuz I think she was asleep through all of it last time." I waited a second trying not to laugh, and when he looked at me smiling he said "what"... and I told him, just in case he really didn't know, "she wasn't born yet last year!" He was a little embarassed. But I got a good laugh out of it. We went over to my aunt and uncle's house, with my grandma and grandpa, and cousins, and my best friend. We had a great
We went Jet skiing when Irene and Andrew (J's sister and brother in law) came to visit. They came to visit when they decided to quit Chicago and move back to Idaho. They stopped to see us on their way back. We had a lot of fun, but M couldn't get used to the cold lake water...she'd try to pick up her feet as far as possible so she wouldn't touch the water. We got her to come take a picture with us though.
So, I'm starting my own blog. I love reading my sisters blogs and keeping up with their lives, considering they live everywhere else it can be hard to do. I also like the idea of letting my family and friends know whats happening with my new family. So here we go. This should at least give me something to do with all my spare time...when M is napping!
