J had his first day back at work yesterday. everything went well, but he was really tired by the end of the day. M has started...well I don't know what to call it, but she has started. She says "mommy, potty!" and I respond "okay, m, hurry go potty in your potty chair" she says "no momma, no potty" so I say "okay, don't go potty" and she says "no momma! potty!" ... or... "momma, dinner please" I say "here's your dinner, m" she says "all done, momma" I say "okay, all done" as she starts to get down from her high chair, then she whines "No momma! more dinner. No! More!" I say "okay, M. If you want more dinner, then eat it. If you get down you're all done and you get no more." M says "ok." then eats a couple of bites and says "all done, momma. No more dinner" and I say "okay" as she gets down from her chair and I take away her plate and then she starts crying "no momma, no!! more!!" at which point I give up, dump her dinner in the trash and she cries for about 10 minutes. this argument happens with most things now, the back and forth of not knowing what she wants. She has also started making me take her to the potty. I used to take her to help her, then she got to where she could do it on her own, but now she will say "momma, potty!" and I tell her "okay, m, go potty, hurry!" and she says "no, momma help." where she takes my hand and says "get up. get up, momma. help". This is really cute but gets old once we get to the bathroom and she argues with herself as to whether or not she actually needs to pee.

She is so cute. You need to come visit again and make sure you bring her with you. Oh we want to see you and John again too! :-)

Stranger Danger

Ok. So, we've talked to M about strangers a bit, telling her to be safe and what not. A couple of times she brings it up when we say no she can't do something and she says "because there are stangers?" or some such. We haven't talked about it recently, but apparently the message stuck: We were at Wal-Mart, had just finised checking out and J went to use the restroom and M wanted to get a drink from the water fountain -I was still a few steps behind, so M said "Mom will you come a little bit closer?" and I said yes, and she continued "because you wouldn't want a stranger to grab me." I smiled and said "No I wouldn't like that." And she said "You would say 'oh no! someone has taken my child!" At which point I couldn't help but laugh and tell her how much I loved her.

Caught Bare Bottomed.

Yesterday I went to retrieve my kids from playing in the backyard with the neighbors....When I round the corner I behold my 5 year old daughter with her shorts baring her bottom to the 6 year old neighbor boy. Me:  M!  E!  It is time to go home. now! M:  E did it too! (while sheepishly pulling her shorts back up and E snaps his head around to look at me with big eyes and "O" mouth) WHY?

Coming Full Circle - Idaho

Life has run us around a bit, and we have enjoyed the journey.  As Facebook rather took over our lives in regards to blogging, I did not maintain my blog.  I find, however, that I enjoy coming back and reading my blog more than I like perusing old facebook posts.  So I begin again with blogging; for myself more than anything. We have managed, since my last post in 2012, to return home to Idaho.   We spent 5 great years in Colorado!  The kids grew up with the neighbors; McKenzie had horse riding lessons from a young lady named Carrie, in Longmont; she started playing flute in 2nd grade, and in 4th she switched to playing trumpet; Ethan started playing soccer, and Minecraft (video gamer in the making).  We got McKenzie a cat named Diamonds. We got a puppy who we named Ryder.  We got new appliances in the kitchen that I love (double oven, fridge with freezer drawer, etc)!  I mention them, because I am sad to have left them in Colorado.  W...
