He's Two and She's Four, and you know they adore you

That's the only part of the song that applies: "I can give you two reasons to show you love's not blind, He's two and she's four and you know they adore you..." The rest most definately does not apply! (For those of you who don't know the Dixie Chicks song, its about a guy who leaves his family for another woman...)

ANYWAY, E just turned 2 on Wednesday, and he's not hiding it at all! He is getting so big, and learning so fast! Potty training is still in progress, but going well. More words are working thier way out every day! Trucks and cars are still his love...I'm not exaggerating. And thank you everyone for his great gifts! He got everything I could think he could possibly ask for...cars, trucks, tractors, (noise-making, the whole lot), hats, sunglasses, shoes, train & track! You guys are great, THANK YOU! Pics are to come later - don't miss 'em!

And for those of you who were at his party, I would like to mention he is no longer afraid of the wheelie poppin' car! - thank you Grandma Gauthier (really, he loves it)- For that matter, I don't really believe he was afraid of it, I think it made him mad that it got away from him! (for those of you not there - it drives away after pushing a button, and pops a wheelie!) He loves it even more now that he figured out, with someone on the other end, it will come back to him. Still does NOT want to share it.

Stranger Danger

Ok. So, we've talked to M about strangers a bit, telling her to be safe and what not. A couple of times she brings it up when we say no she can't do something and she says "because there are stangers?" or some such. We haven't talked about it recently, but apparently the message stuck: We were at Wal-Mart, had just finised checking out and J went to use the restroom and M wanted to get a drink from the water fountain -I was still a few steps behind, so M said "Mom will you come a little bit closer?" and I said yes, and she continued "because you wouldn't want a stranger to grab me." I smiled and said "No I wouldn't like that." And she said "You would say 'oh no! someone has taken my child!" At which point I couldn't help but laugh and tell her how much I loved her.

Caught Bare Bottomed.

Yesterday I went to retrieve my kids from playing in the backyard with the neighbors....When I round the corner I behold my 5 year old daughter with her shorts baring her bottom to the 6 year old neighbor boy. Me:  M!  E!  It is time to go home. now! M:  E did it too! (while sheepishly pulling her shorts back up and E snaps his head around to look at me with big eyes and "O" mouth) WHY?

Coming Full Circle - Idaho

Life has run us around a bit, and we have enjoyed the journey.  As Facebook rather took over our lives in regards to blogging, I did not maintain my blog.  I find, however, that I enjoy coming back and reading my blog more than I like perusing old facebook posts.  So I begin again with blogging; for myself more than anything. We have managed, since my last post in 2012, to return home to Idaho.   We spent 5 great years in Colorado!  The kids grew up with the neighbors; McKenzie had horse riding lessons from a young lady named Carrie, in Longmont; she started playing flute in 2nd grade, and in 4th she switched to playing trumpet; Ethan started playing soccer, and Minecraft (video gamer in the making).  We got McKenzie a cat named Diamonds. We got a puppy who we named Ryder.  We got new appliances in the kitchen that I love (double oven, fridge with freezer drawer, etc)!  I mention them, because I am sad to have left them in Colorado.  W...
