These are our pictures from camping! M had tons of fun...most of the time she was filthy...of course, so were we. This might be the picture of when J took our phone fishing with him. Yes, that ruined our phone...mostly. And he didn't notice that M had taken off her diaper until I was taking pictures of them fishing. We had lots of fun, beautiful sunsets, and many bugs...but it was great.

we had smores of course, which M had a good time eating...hers is lacking chocolate, purely so I didn't have to clean it up. Don't worry, I shared some of mine with her. We ate tin-foil dinners, and hot dog dinner; J made pancakes and eggs for breakfast one morning...I've never had that good of a breakfast camping before. The second morning we just had poptarts...but they were good too!

Clearance Puppy

This has been a really crazy weekend. Thursday J got a call from a breeder he had been speaking to 3 or 4 months ago. We were going to go look at a puppy of his (with no real intention of buying) back then, but when we called the breeder said he just sold the last female 2 hours previously. Then on thursday he called to tell J that a buyer backed out last minute and J has first chance at getting her, so Friday we went to see her. She was discounted for us (and b/c she is older now, I think) and much more affordable - and so we brought her home, and her name is Sugar. Sug (shoog) for short. She is very sweet and calm, and listens really well. She is a yellow lab, and for all of you who have read the book or watched the movie - yes, we bought the "clearance puppy"! And actually we stopped at Blockbuster to return some movies and a big Marley & Me poster was in the window and M said :"Is that a picture of Sugar?" - I hope not! Saturday was the last 50 cen...

Stranger Danger

Ok. So, we've talked to M about strangers a bit, telling her to be safe and what not. A couple of times she brings it up when we say no she can't do something and she says "because there are stangers?" or some such. We haven't talked about it recently, but apparently the message stuck: We were at Wal-Mart, had just finised checking out and J went to use the restroom and M wanted to get a drink from the water fountain -I was still a few steps behind, so M said "Mom will you come a little bit closer?" and I said yes, and she continued "because you wouldn't want a stranger to grab me." I smiled and said "No I wouldn't like that." And she said "You would say 'oh no! someone has taken my child!" At which point I couldn't help but laugh and tell her how much I loved her.

My two-year old...

M is acting like a two-year old the last few days...and I admit, it is driving me a little crazy. It's a good thing she's so stinkin' cute!! She is constantly doing a yes/no argument. M: I want chicken; K: okay, we can have chicken. M: No! no, chicken; K: okay, not chicken, what do you want then?; M: I want chicken.....eventually I stop and feed her whatever and she is throwing a fit whichever way I go. At dinner the other night we said a prayer, but M didn't want to participate so J and I stopped trying to get her to join and said a prayer anyway. This made M mad, and for about, oh, 10 minutes kept crying that she wanted to say a prayer. We would say, 'okay, M, we'll say one more prayer with you.' she would turn away and say, 'no prayer!' We gave up on this one too, but she wouldn't stop yelling and crying, so she got a time-out. Which didn't stop her from yelling and crying. In any case, it was a long dinner. And there are a lot ...
