update

I haven't blogged in forever and now I don't remember what I wanted to share. July was really busy for me, and August is only letting up a little bit. J and I went and took hunters ed together, so now I am a smart hunter! Only i'm not a hunter yet. This weekend is our 2nd anniversary, and the weekend after that is J's birthday, and the weekend after that...I don't remember but there's something. I've been naseaus a lot lately, but fortunately I have not actually had to throw up. It's just really annoying to feel like crud all the time. Hopefully it will end after 3 months...

You know how you can fake cry and pout to a kid and they will fell bad and give in to what you want?...Like, "M, can I have a kiss?" "no, momma." and then I will pretend to be sad and cry...well you know what m's response is? "Momma need a nap." hmmm....where have I heard that before?

M is talking really well now...at least I think so. She talks a lot more now, tells stories, etc. If you ask her what color something is she will tell you 'I don't know' but if she names the color of something voluntarily she will get it right at least 80% of the time. She says no a lot now, but usually still do what she is supposed to. The pictures are from the 4th of July.

Stranger Danger

Ok. So, we've talked to M about strangers a bit, telling her to be safe and what not. A couple of times she brings it up when we say no she can't do something and she says "because there are stangers?" or some such. We haven't talked about it recently, but apparently the message stuck: We were at Wal-Mart, had just finised checking out and J went to use the restroom and M wanted to get a drink from the water fountain -I was still a few steps behind, so M said "Mom will you come a little bit closer?" and I said yes, and she continued "because you wouldn't want a stranger to grab me." I smiled and said "No I wouldn't like that." And she said "You would say 'oh no! someone has taken my child!" At which point I couldn't help but laugh and tell her how much I loved her.

End of the week

This week has been lots of fun. J's mom, step-dad, sister and nephew all came to stay with us for the week. We've had a lot of fun visiting, playing games, and swimming. I'm so glad they came to visit us, aaallll the way from Idaho! We're lucky they had the time and all came! They are leaving in the morning because his step-dad has to work sunday afternoon! Crazy wonderful people. On another note, tomorrow J and I will have been married 3 years. I can hardly believe it's been three years....absolutely wonderful. I have never made a better decision in my life!

bribe

We had a fun weekend - we went to the zoo which was having family fun day, and then we went to the dog show (both of which were free). Then on Sunday we went to Greg & Robin's to see their new puppies, and they are stinkin' cute! And Greg BBQ'ed for us - yummy! At one point, while we were hanging out at their house, Robin sat down on the couch and asked M if she was gonna come sit by her, and M said: "I will sit by you if you get me a drink of water." (as she was climbing up on the couch next to her). And this would be the first time I have heard her use a bribe (and certainly not the last) - I told her maybe she should ask instead and she got embarassed.
