"momma, potty!"

so, I have some adorable pictures, but not with me so it will have to be a later post...of M and our ducks. and of just M....
On the other hand, M has kinda sorta started potty training! Kinda sorta, because it's only been a couple of days that she's actually used it. We've had the potty chair in our bathroom for awhile and she's been using it as a stepping stool, and she's been sitting on it fully clothed pretty much every time I used the restroom. Well on monday M asked to go potty with her diaper off, so I took off her diaper, not expecting much, when, after she had sat down, she announced "yucky. pooping." and sure enough when she stood up, no it was not poop, but she did pee! She did it again later that night, three times yesterday, and twice today! I seriously thought it was just a fluke, but hey! She's still at it. She doesn't ask me yet when she needs to go, she just happens to be able to go at the same times I do. So, we still have dirty diapers, but maybe not for much longer! Woo Hoo! ::knock on wood:: !!!

If she's potty trained before Gillian I'm never talking to you again. For the record. :)

Haley told me she said "Potty, all done". I just thought Haley couldn't understand her. I bet that's what she really said! Yea for Kenzie and mom and dad too! Keep with her and you will have it licked soon!. Lindsay was a breeze Rachel not so much!

Stranger Danger

Ok. So, we've talked to M about strangers a bit, telling her to be safe and what not. A couple of times she brings it up when we say no she can't do something and she says "because there are stangers?" or some such. We haven't talked about it recently, but apparently the message stuck: We were at Wal-Mart, had just finised checking out and J went to use the restroom and M wanted to get a drink from the water fountain -I was still a few steps behind, so M said "Mom will you come a little bit closer?" and I said yes, and she continued "because you wouldn't want a stranger to grab me." I smiled and said "No I wouldn't like that." And she said "You would say 'oh no! someone has taken my child!" At which point I couldn't help but laugh and tell her how much I loved her.

back to school

We had a great trip up to Idaho for a family reunion (J's side of the family) after a short camping trip with some of my family in Iowa (not family from Iowa, just where we met up). We've been pretty busy and summer has disappeared. It didn't help that I had summer classes, and only 3 weeks off. We got to do some rough scouting in Colorado, to see where we might likely live when we finally move. Quite a few good stories, but I split them up. When we were in Colorado Springs we decided to go to Seven Falls - where they told us the Mountain elevator is broken, so they will take $1 off our admissions. We agreed, not minding 185 steps....wait, what did J just agree to? So we went to climb said stairs, which were small, and steep and seemed to go on forever; about half way up - the first set of stairs - M gets tired of climbing (we saw this coming, and I didn't blame her, I was tired too!) so I take E from J and J picks up M (he's stronger after all). We push ourselves th...
halloween was lots of fun. we went to the Family Fall Festival at Aunt N's. M had lots of fun being dressed up...as a witch! She was adorable, and I appologize, but I have no pics. I completely forgot to bring my camera. Hopefully I can steal some from Aunt N. M had a skirt with fiber optics on it that lit up different colors, and she wore glow sticks as well. She had a cute witch hat, orange tights with bats, and a black shirt that says "my magic power is being cute." She even won the costume contest and got delicious Choxie chocolates as a prize. The chocolates were really cool actually because they were little cups of chocolate, made out of chocolate, with different flavors of soft chocolate in the middle...like caramel, pistachio, milk choco...etc. CHOCOLATE CHOCOLATE CHOCOLATE!! We are really enjoying them. there is only one left actually. Oh, and I finally got everything finalized on the Buick my mom sold me, so now it is officially mine, tags and title!...
