Rice Family

okay. I know it's been a little bit since I blogged - sorry. We got a new van; it's a Chrysler town and country (used) and we sold my mom her car back. Craziness, I know. My mom is here visiting which is fun (she came for her car). We hung out at Grandma G's house the first few days, and now she is at our house. We went to the zoo today (courtesy of M's birthday present from Aunt Megan) and it was lots of fun. The weather was perfect, pretty warm but there was a nice breeze, and we stayed and had lunch there. It was a nice morning, and now it is nap time - but I am not sleeping cuz E is not sleeping. Perfect time to post a few pics!

So this semester is finally over - I got an A in Accounting 2 and a B in payroll accounting. And that is all I took this semester - b/c E was enough of a distraction! Everything is going really good. E is growing like crazy, and is needing more entertainment now. He has slept from about 9 pm to 5 or 6 am the last 4 nights! which is extrememly exciting for me! M is good; a little bossy from time to time, but less whiney than she used to be. Potty Training is good - except she doesn't like to go by herself (even though she can) and she fears automatic toilets and practically refuses to go in one - or cries the whole time she is. J is still working. And that's the most can be said on that front - he doesn't necessarily like his job, nor does he dislike it. It's a job, and he likes working outside. Sugar has basically doubled in size. She is a good puppy though. She listens well when you say no...a couple times...and she usually warns you when she needs to go to ...

Check these guys out. They are awesome! It's a little uncomfortable watching them, b/c they're practically naked, but hey, that's art right?

...and they are all sleeping! Including the dogs. This is heaven.

This has been a really crazy weekend. Thursday J got a call from a breeder he had been speaking to 3 or 4 months ago. We were going to go look at a puppy of his (with no real intention of buying) back then, but when we called the breeder said he just sold the last female 2 hours previously. Then on thursday he called to tell J that a buyer backed out last minute and J has first chance at getting her, so Friday we went to see her. She was discounted for us (and b/c she is older now, I think) and much more affordable - and so we brought her home, and her name is Sugar. Sug (shoog) for short. She is very sweet and calm, and listens really well. She is a yellow lab, and for all of you who have read the book or watched the movie - yes, we bought the "clearance puppy"! And actually we stopped at Blockbuster to return some movies and a big Marley & Me poster was in the window and M said :"Is that a picture of Sugar?" - I hope not! Saturday was the last 50 cen...

I would like to mention a few I liked: Slumdog Millionaire - this one has a good story, but J didn't like the way they made it. It's one of those movies that tell the story backward - beginning with (almost) the end. Yes Man- this is a funny one (of course). Bottle Shock - This one is funny and has a good story, but it takes a little long to play out. Still, I like it a lot! There were a few others, but now I can't remember them
